The browser-safe version was fairly straightforward. Each page was loaded via AJAX and slid in from the side.
For the experimental version, I initially worked alone on some R&D experiments to figure out the extent of the designs we could conceivably get away with implementing in modern browsers. Taking inspiration from cutting-edge sites like Browser Pong, The Wilderness Downtown, and Sour Mirror, my design team decided on a direction that involved multiple pop-up windows positioned next to each other to form the whole of a "page". I'll do my best to explain the experience of navigating through it, and the unique development challenges I faced.
On the home "page", a grid of 16 windows, each linking to a different section of the site, shows one of several designs each time it's opened, just like in the browser-safe version, complete with animation.
